I'm back on night shift...I don't want to talk about how much sleep I get! Sometimes it's "enough," but when you wake up every two hours it certainly doesn't feel like it.

Some people can get by on less sleep than others (my sister, definite non-athlete, sleeps 10-11 hours per day). I only function well on 8-9, but I can go sleepless for two days and function better than most; I couldn't sleep the night before a 100 mile race, ran for 30 hours and then spent the 9 hour drive back asking for my turn behind the wheel. I din't sleep more than 20 minutes at a time from 2003-2006 and, not surprisingly, I don't remember much of those years.

All throughout undergrad and afterwards I had to have my 8 hours a night. I fell apart if I got under 6 or 7 hours. Since starting PA school last June my weekdays normally average out to about 4 hours a night, and then weekends I've been known to sleep for 21 hours straight. I never understood how people could do that! But, apparently-if you deprive your body of sleep enough, it will find some way to catch up. But-I wouldn't recommend this practice at all....I feel sick all week, and then sleep too much during the weekend to be able to actually enjoy having energy and feeling like a human being. Not a good cycle to get into!
On that note-I'm heading to bed ....Instead of going and searching pubmed myself and suddenly finding out that it's 2am and i lost track of time...i'll be waiting to hear what you find out :-)

Just catching up girlie. I think the stim is a good idea, why not? I also think that adding in some adductor with the glute can help get it firing. Sometimes when the glute MED will fire ( make sure the TFL stays quiet) it can help get the glute max going too. It's all good, i am sure it will kick on soon!
