Wow – this blog has gone through quite a few chances since it’s inception as RunRoamRecycle! When I first started blogging as a college freshman, I was at the University of Minnesota studying architecture. I was pretty much a “runner-only” girl at that point, aside from daily core and and the Arc Trainer.
Year two came quickly as I moved halfway across the country to Boston to attend Northeastern University – mostly for their co-op program. During year two I also fractured my left femoral neck, found out I have fibrous dysplasia, rehabbed up a storm, got hit by a car 12 days before the Boston Marathon, realized that architecture was not the gig for me, rediscovered my passion for medicine, and decided to move back HOME!
Year three, which is where you find me now, is happily back in the good ol’ Mini-Apple, and back at the University of Minnesota. Since moving back to Minneapolis in April of 2009, I moved out into the world on my own, adopted a dog, lost a dog, officially became a Kinesiology major/pre-med student, became a dedicated user of public transportation and bike commuting, trained for Twin Cities Marathon, refractured my femoral neck, recovered sans surgery (!!), worked two jobs, became a fierce member of the University of Minnesota Triathlon team, TRIed over the summer and did pretty darn well, made the move to self-hosting, and the year is still running strong. The plan thus far is to attend medical school and pursue sports medicine. Life is so exciting and I have been so blessed, and I am looking forward to the future and all that is to come!

Of course though, there are some things that have been a part of me for much longer than the life of my blog. Here is the rest of a little (or a lot) of me:
daughter. sister. friend. runner. triathlete. vegetarian. sometimes vegan. omnivore for my health. environmentalist. college student. pre-med student. kinesiology major. lover. learner. waitress. home manager. explorer. health nut. nut. designer. inspirer. inspired. proud university of minnesota golden gopher. a past bostonian. crafter. cooker. photographer. photo taker. spender. saver. racer. planner. organizer. neat-freak. coffee addict. Gomer’s mother. adventurer. me.
Whatever your path may have been to wind up here at Dr. TriRunner, I’m glad you made it here, and I hope you stay a while!
Annnd I suppose… if I need to include a disclaimer, here it is: I am not a doctor (yet!) or a medical professional. While I feel I am quite educated on many subjects related to health, injury prevention, training, nutrition, and more, the only “certifications” I hold are in infant/child/and adult CPR, emergency first responder, and being a spinning instructor. Please take anything and everything I write with the knowledge that your own doctors/physical therapists/trainers should know what they’re talking about and that they have your best health in mind!
